Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Cedar Crest 5-0 at Home

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team hosted their first home United East match of the season on Wednesday evening as they took on Cedar Crest, earning a 5-0 victory in front of the home crowd. The Chargers drop to 4-5-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the United East while the Falcons fall to 3-7 overall and 1-3 in the United East.

How it Happened:
The Falcons had the first shot on goal of the game as Saige Santa Cruz (Jr.) made a save, then Madison Duggan (Fr.) had a shot on goal on the other end for LBC that was saved. In the 12th minute, Isabella Eufemia (Sr.) gathered the ball on the near side and dished it to Emily Murawski (So.), launching a shot high that sailed into the goal to open the scoring for the Chargers and give them a 1-0 lead. A little over a minute later, a foul gave LBC a free kick that was taken by Rayanna Wagaman (Fr.), who fired a deep shot on goal that soared past the keeper's hands for another score and a 2-0 LBC lead. Around the 23-minute mark, Eufemia got free on the left side and worked her way around the box, firing a shot to the right side that reached the back for a third LBC score in the first half. Both Leah Iman (Sr.) and Chloe Donaldson (Sr.) had shots later in the half, then a late save by Santa Cruz helped LBC carry a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Just four minutes into the second half, the Chargers struck again as Courtney Smith (Fr.) notched her first career goal to extend the LBC lead once again. After several more shots from the Chargers, a clear off a corner kick quickly unraveled for Cedar Crest as a pass went directly to Murawski, vaulting a deep shot past the keeper for her second score of the game and a 5-0 lead for the Chargers. Lancaster Bible continued to put shots on goal throughout the half and challenge the defense, closing out the shutout win at home and remaining unbeaten in conference play.
