Men’s Basketball Earns At-Large Selection to NCCAA Division I Nationals

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team is championship-bound as they earned an at-large selection to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I National Tournament in Point Lookout, Mo. this week as the tournament's #3-seed. This is the Chargers' third-ever appearance in the Division I National Tournament as they earned berths in 2020-21 (at-large) and 2021-22 (AQ), and they will begin their search for a national title in the eight-team field on Wednesday, March 18 as they face #6-seed Clinton College at 9:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. CT).

The Chargers have already had a successful season with a 20-8 record thus far, their seventh 20-win season in program history and the third under head coach Jon Mack in his seven seasons at the helm. The Chargers clinched a share of the United East regular season title with an 11-2 conference record and secured the #1-seed in the postseason, winning their Quarterfinal game over #8-seed Wilson in dominant fashion 117-72 before falling at home in the Semifinals to #4-seed Penn St. Harrisburg 72-57. The Chargers are led by standout-junior Camden Hurst, leading the United East at 21.1 points per game on 57.3% shooting from the field and 40% shooting from 3-point range, earning United East Player of the Year and selections to the United East All-Conference First Team and NCCAA Mideast All-Region First Team, as well as the D3hoops.com All-Region IV Second Team. Also leading the charge for Lancaster Bible is junior Connor Storr, scoring 15.8 points per game in just under 23 minutes per contest on 52.9% field goal shooting and 157 total rebounds to lead the Chargers this season. Storr was named a United East All-Conference First Team selection as well, adding a NCCAA Mideast All-Region Second Team nod to his season accolades.

Below is a list of the eight teams competing in the tournament this season:

No. 1 Bethel University (Ind.) {Mishawaka, Ind. | 24-8 overall}
