The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team returned home to host Valley Forge on Tuesday night in United East play, earning a commanding 3-0 victory. The Chargers improve to 11-10 overall and 4-0 in conference while the Patriots fall to 7-10 overall and 1-2 in conference.
How it Happened:
The Chargers opened on a 7-0 run as
Zeke Clark (Jr.) landed five service aces in seven serves, then
Kevin Bryant (Jr.) and
Carson Hoover (Jr.) each landed back-to-back kills for an 11-2 LBC start. Hoover then joined the party behind the line with five straight service aces as the Chargers ran away with the first set, winning 25-8 after Bryant added two more kills to close it out.
Braden Escover (Fr.) landed a kill for a 3-0 Chargers lead, then Bryant and Hoover went back-to-back on kills to put LBC up 8-3. The Chargers then took off with six straight points for a double-digit lead, then after the run ended, Clark had two kills and Hoover had two more aces as the Chargers went up 18-5. After a short run of three from the Patriots late in the set,
Nicholas Marion (Sr.) landed a kill to close out set two 25-13 for Lancaster Bible.
The Chargers' substitutions told the story in the third set as
Jacob Snyder (So.) landed a service ace and
Tyler Allen (Fr.) got a free ball to go for a kill as LBC led 9-3 early. A kill by Snyder made it 12-6 LBC, then a service ace from
Isaac Deller (Fr.) extended the lead to seven at 15-8. The Chargers closed fast with the final nine points in a row to end the set, with two kills by
Roman Thompson (Fr.) and two service aces by
Gabe Dressler (Fr.) closing the door 25-10 to finish off the conference sweep.

The Chargers improve to 6-0 all-time against Valley Forge and are back over .500 for th first time since they improved to 3-2 on January 23. The Chargers are now 4-0 in United East play this season and have won their last 24 matches in conference play since rejoining in 2023 and have won their last 47 consecutive conference matches dating back to the 2017 season.
Nicholas Marion surpassed 500 career digs in tonight's match, becoming the ninth player in program history to reach the 500-dig mark.
