The Lancaster Bible College Softball team traveled to Reading, Pa. to take on Albright in a road double-header on Thursday, splitting the day with a 6-0 loss in game one followed by a 3-2 win in game two. The Chargers move to 6-5 overall while the Lions move to 7-5 overall.

How it Happened:
The saw hits by
Ava Stern (Fr.) and
Kendall Jackman (Fr.) over the first three innings, but neither could score as Albright struck first in the 2nd to take the lead. A solo home run by the Lions gave them a two-run lead, then both
Carleigh Cleland (Jr.) and
Keira Price (So.) knocked hits but once again neither came across the plate. The bottom of the 5th inning helped seal the deal for Albright as they scored four runs on five hits to go up 6-0 over LBC, winning by that score as the Chargers could not rally to end the game.

How it Happened:
The Chargers put two runners on in the 1st inning after a hit by
Rebekah Hoover (Fr.) and a walk by
Carleigh Cleland, but the Lions kept LBC off the board. The Chargers then struck in the 2nd inning as
Keira Price blasted a two-run home run to right field, the Chargers' first long ball of the season as LBC took a 2-0 advantage in game two.
Ava Stern then struck out the side in the bottom of the inning in the circle, then the Chargers' defense boasted a 1-2-3 3rd inning to keep Albright at bay. The Chargers got two runners in scoring position in the top of the 5th for
Ila Rowatti (So.), hitting a sacrifice fly to score Stern and extend the LBC lead to 3-0. The Lions got one back in the bottom frame, then three empty frames helped LBC carry a two-run lead into the bottom of the 7th. The Lions rallied in the 7th inning for a run off a walk and a RBI-single, but a line out sealed the 3-2 victory as the Chargers held on to split the away double-header.

The Chargers are now 4-7 all-time against Albright and have split their last four meetings with the Lions. The Chargers picked up their first true road win of the season in game two against the Lions after picking up their first five wins of the season at a neutral site in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. last week.
Keira Price notched the first home run of the season for the Chargers in game two with a two-run shot to right field, her third career home run as a sophomore.
