The Lancaster Bible College Baseball team traveled to play Messiah in non-conference play on Tuesday afternoon, losing by a score of 18-4 on the road. The Chargers drop to 12-13 overall and 7-3 in the United East while the Falcons improve to 21-10 overall and 13-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
Â
[In the top of the 9th inning, LBC senior Dylan Witkowski recorded his 200th career base hit on a RBI-single, becoming just the 3rd player in the history of Lancaster Bible Baseball to reach the 200-Hit milestone (Justin Taylor '14-'17, Blake Greenly '20-'24).]
Â
How it Happened:
The Falcons got on the board right away in the 1st inning to take a 2-0 lead, but the Chargers answered right back in the top of the 2nd as
CJ Peterson (So.) crushed a two-run home run to right center, tying the game up at 2-2. It was all Falcons for the next seven frames, progressively adding to their lead a few at a time with only one scoreless frame as they led 11-2 after seven innings. A seven-run 8th inning for Messiah put a lot more distance between them and the Chargers, then Lancaster Bible ended their drought with two more in the 9th inning as
Dylan Witkowski (Sr.) drove in a run on a single for his 200th career hit and
Evan Sareyka (Sr.) reached on an error that brought a run home, with LBC falling 18-4 on the road to the Falcons.
Â
