The Lancaster Bible softball team celebrated Senior Day Friday, April 24
th. Three Chargers were recognized,
Amelia Huey,
Amanda Hoover, and
Maddison Atkins, as they welcomed the Lions from Penn St. Berks. The Chargers would go on to sweep the day, as they finish the regular season with 20 total wins for the first time in program history.
Game One: 4-1 WIN
The game would start with each team going three up, three down.
Maddison Atkins recorded two strike outs in the top of the second, giving the Chargers momentum heading into the bottom of the inning. Atkins started the inning with a double to left field.
Keira Price drove her home with a 2-run home run, as the Chargers took the early lead. The scoring continued as a
Grace Goodman double scored
Ila Rowatti giving a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Atkins continued her dominance on the mound as she struck out two more batters in the top of the third. The Chargers added one more run to their lead in the bottom of the fourth, where a Lions error allowed Cleland to score and Rowatti to reach. Atkins continued to dominate down the stretch as the Chargers went on to win 4-1.
By the Numbers:
- The Chargers scored four runs on six hits with two errors
- The Lions scored one run on four hits with one error
- Maddison Atkins improved to 12-5 on the year with a seven strikeout zero earned run game
- Keira Price led the Chargers from the plate going 1-3, 1 HR and 2 RBI's
- Grace Goodman would go 1-2 with 1 RBI
Game Two: 7-5 WIN
The Chargers wasted no time in game two to get on the board. A Lions error allowed
Kendall Jackman to score.
Amanda Hoover would drive in two more runs with a double, giving the 3-0 lead to the Chargers. Penn St. Berks would respond in the top of the second with a run of their own, making it a 3-1 game. They continued to fight back as an error by the Chargers in the fourth tied the game up 3-3. The comeback would be stopped as an
Ava Stern single scored two runs, followed by a home run by
Maddison Atkins, giving the lead back to the Chargers 7-3 in the bottom of the fourth. The Lions attempted one last comeback in the top of sixth, scoring two. It would not be enough as the Chargers go on to win 7-5.
By the Numbers:
- The Chargers scored seven runs on nine hits with two errors
- The Lions scored five runs on eight hits with one error
- Ava Stern improves to 8-6 on the year, with a six-strikeout game, while going 1-4 with 2 RBIs from the plate
- Maddison Atkins led the Chargers from the plate going 1-4, 1 HR 2 RBI's
- Amanda Hoover would go 3-3, with 2 RBI's

This concludes the 2026 regular season for the Chargers, finishing with a 20-11 record, including 13-3 in conference, and 8-0 at home. The Chargers await their United East Conference tournament match up.
