Trio of Chargers Nab Postseason Honors

The United East Conference announced their All-Conference and Major Award winners for the 2025-26 Women's Tennis season on Wednesday afternoon, with three total Chargers being recognized on the release as Jania Weist (Sr.) and Natalie Hoover (Sr.) were named singles selections to the All-Conference Third Team and the pair of Jania Weist and Lindsey Ochs (Fr.) made the Third Team. This marks the fifth career All-Conference honor for Hoover, the fourth and fifth career selections for Weist, and the first All-Conference selection for Ochs in her young career.

Weist helped power the Chargers this season as she tied for the team lead in singles wins with nine, including a 6-3 record in United East play and a playoff victory against Cairn in the First Round on April 24 with a 6-3, 6-3 win. Jania played at both the #1 and #2 slots this season in singles play, picking up a 4-1 record at the #1 spot including four conference victories and a 5-6 record as the #2. Weist ends her four years with the Chargers with 35 total singles victories and 34 in doubles play, increasing her career total to five All-Conference honors as she was named to the United East Second Team in singles twice and the Second Team for doubles once previously.

Hoover earns her third career singles selection to the All-Conference team and her fifth overall, tying with Weist for the team lead at nine singles wins in 2026. She led the Chargers in singles win percentage (min. 5 completed matches) at .643 and had the most United East wins for the Chargers with seven during the regular season, adding a 6-4, 6-1 playoff victory at the #3 spot against Cairn on April 24. Natalie finishes out her four years at LBC with 35 total singles victories along with 28 double wins.

The duo of Weist and Ochs played in six matches together during this season, collecting a team record of 4-2 with a 4-1 total record in the #1 doubles slot for the Chargers. They collected four straight doubles victories in United East play throughout the middle of the season, helping LBC secure the doubles team point in all four of those matches.

For the conference major awards, St. Mary's (Md.) freshman Lily Ganjbaksh won United East Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while St. Mary's (Md.) head coach Eric Heisler was named United East Coach of the Year after leading the Seahawks to their first conference title since 2023.
