The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team made the trip out to University Heights, Ohio on Thursday to take on John Carroll in non-conference play, losing 6-1 on the road. The Chargers drop to 0-4 overall while the Blue Streaks improve to 2-2 overall.
How it Happened:
Lancaster Bible fended off three early shots from the Blue Streaks as
Chris Jackson (Sr.) made two saves in the first five minutes, then around 12 minutes in the game,
Silas Dellaperute (Jr.) took a deep shot that missed high for the Chargers. After a give-and-go near the baseline, John Carroll fired a shot that found the back of the net to give them the 1-0 advantage in the 18th minute.
Jeremy Lee (Fr.) had a shot that missed wide a few minutes later, then
Adan Olivar (Jr.) put a shot on goal in the bottom right corner that was narrowly saved by the Blue Streaks' keeper. With just three minutes left in the half, John Carroll made a run and notched another score as they took a 2-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The teams traded possession for the first 15 minutes of the second half before the Blue Streaks struck for another goal, then found another just a few minutes later to quickly extend their lead to 4-0. After
Derek Rhine (Sr.) had an on-target shot that was saved, the Chargers orchestrated a drive up the field that ended with Lee sending a scorching shot to the top left corner, securing his first career goal with both
Ruben Reyes (So.) and Dellaperute contributing assists. Just as soon as they scored, however, John Carroll matched them with yet another score to take a 5-1 lead. The Blue Streaks later added a sixth goal to their tally, wrapping up a big home win over the visiting Chargers on Thursday night.

Information to Know:
This was the Chargers' first-ever matchup against John Carroll in Men's Soccer. John Carroll's six goals tonight are the most allowed by the Chargers in a game since September 4, 2024 against Alvernia. This is the first time in the Chargers' Division III history starting 0-4 for the season and their first time going winless in their first four games since 2012.
Jeremy Lee netted his first career goal in the second half for the Chargers.
