The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team hosted King's (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon as part of Homecoming weekend at LBC, kicking off an action-packed day of athletics on campus with a 1-0 victory for their first win of the season. The Chargers improve to 1-4 overall while the Monarchs fall to 2-5 overall.
How it Happened:
Rayanna Wagaman (Fr.) had a trifecta of shots right away for the Chargers with one of them on goal, then
Madison Duggan (Fr.) got a shot off that was saved by the Monarchs' keeper. About 20 minutes in,
Saige Santa Cruz (Jr.) made her first save of the game, then several Chargers made runs for shots that all missed wide as they kept up the pressure on the opposing defense. In the final two minutes of the half,
Isabella Eufemia (Sr.) drew a foul in the box for a Chargers penalty kick, taking the shot but having it saved by the keeper to keep LBC off the board to take the halftime break with a 0-0 score on the board.
In the first minute of the second half,
Chloe Donaldson (Sr.) had a chance in the box on a soft shot that was saved in the middle, then the Monarchs flipped the field and fired a shot on goal that was saved by Santa Cruz. King's (Pa.) had back-to-back corner kicks immediately after, but the LBC defense fended off a score with just one shot allowed. After several off-target shots for LBC, Eufemia found a window on the right side but narrowly had her shot saved. As the clock ticked under 10 minutes remaining in the game, the Chargers drew a corner kick that was taken by Murawski, then as she delivered the ball in the box,
Jade Weir (Gr.) had the touch on a swing that fired into the goal, the Chargers' first score of the season as they took the 1-0 lead at home in front of an excited crowd. Each team drew another corner kick down the stretch with a shot apiece, but the clock hit zeroes as the Chargers secured their first victory of 2026 to kick off Homecoming with some fireworks.

Information to Know:
This was the Chargers' first matchup with King's (Pa.) since the 2009 season, one year before LBC became a NCAA Division III school. This was the Chargers' first-ever win over the Monarchs as they lost the first three matchups all-time.
Jade Weir notched her first goal of the season and her first since October 18 of last season, while
Emily Murawski secured her first assist as a member of the Chargers after spending her first season at Brookdale Community College (USCAA).
Saige Santa Cruz recorded both her first win and first shutout as a Charger in goal today.
