Ryan MacFarlane

Ryan MacFarlane was named the 19th head coach in Lancaster Bible College Baseball history on July 11, 2023. MacFarlane was previously an assistant coach for the 2023 season, working with the bullpen and as the recruiting coordinator. MacFarlane helped the Chargers' pitching staff improve from the sixth-best staff in 2022 to the third-best staff in 2023, as Lancaster Bible reached the United East Playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Prior to Lancaster Bible, MacFarlane coached and worked for Athletes in Action, something he is still involved with. He served at both Michigan State and Virginia Tech, as well as at the home base for AIA in Xenia, Ohio. Before his work career, MacFarlane pitched at NCAA Division I Michigan State and pitched professionally for the Midwest Sliders of the Frontier League during the 2008 season.

In his first year at the helm, MacFarlane led the program to 21 total wins, the most since the 2016 season. The Chargers also grabbed their first conference postseason victory in known history with a 16-3 win over Penn St. Abington in the first game of the United East Playoffs. MacFarlane had five total All-Conference selections, including First Team United East and NCCAA Midwest All-Region Blake Greenly and Dylan Witkowski.
