Lauren Bewley was named the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Lancaster Bible prior to the 2006 season and has taken the program to new heights since then as she has led the Chargers to double digit victories in each of her nine seasons.
Lancaster Bible’s best season came this past year when the Chargers won the NCCAA East Region Championship and appeared in the NCCAA National Tournament for the fourth time in program history. The Chargers have appeared in the NCCAA East Region Final six of the past seven seasons.
In addition to their success in the NCCAA, the Chargers have made the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs in each of Lancaster Bible’s first four seasons in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Chargers advanced to the NEAC Semifinals in 2012 before falling to eventual winner Gallaudet and lost a heartbreaking five-set match to Keuka in last year's NEAC Quarterfinals.
Bewley was named NCCAA East Region Coach of the Year in 2010, 2012 and 2014 as the Chargers went undefeated in NCCAA East Region play in all three of those seasons.
In her nine seasons, Bewley has coached five players who have earned NCCAA All-American recognition, including Hannah Noble in 2008, Peggy Compton in 2010, Lauren Heliger in 2011 and 2012, Lauren Daniels in 2012, and Katie Coomber in 2014. Six players have also earned NEAC All-Conference honors in the past four seasons as well (Heliger, Daniels, Metzler (Derr), Coomber, Rachel Olson and Myranda Kemrer).
Bewley is a 2006 graduate of Cedarville University and in addition to coaching the women’s volleyball team at Lancaster Bible is also the school’s strength and conditioning coach. She and her husband Ben, along with their daughter Blair, live in Lancaster.
