Cresson, PA- Lancaster Bible College's women's soccer team won a close battle against the Mounties of Mt. Aloysius 1-0 in overtime, Saturday afternoon. The win evens the Chargers record at 2-2 for the season.
Both teams played tough for 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, forcing overtime. Finally, at the 97:42 mark Charger freshman Kristina Clairmont (Dublin, PA) scored the only goal of the game on an assist from fellow freshman Jenna Godwin (Fairfax, VA) to end the game.
Junior goalkeeper Kirsten Shoemaker (Cochranville, PA) notched her second shut out of the season. The Chargers defense lead by senior Laura Lodge (Gloucester, MA) held the Mounties to a stingy six shots, only one of which was on goal. On the other side of the ball, Clairmont led Lancaster Bible with five shots as the team generated thirteen shots for the game.
The Chargers try to get over .500 for the first time this season when they face Keystone College Tuesday September 9th in La Plume, PA.
