Penn State Brandywine No Match for Volleyball

Lancaster, PA- The women's volleyball team beat Penn State Brandywine handily in three sets on Homecoming Saturday (25-18, 25-7, 25-20). The win gives them their second straight victory, and fourth out of their last six. The Chargers are 8-10 on the season.

Offensively the Chargers had three players with a team high, seven kills. Notably, setter Elissa Hunsberger (Norristown, PA) scored her career best in kills. Outside hitters, Jill Ferguson (Lititz, PA) and Hannah Noble (Littlestown, PA) rounded out the team high. Even more impressive was that all three hitters only had three errors between them.

On the other side of the net, the Chargers were just as consistent with four players with over six digs. Freshman libero, Lauren Hurd (Ellendale, DE), led the Chargers once again with a game high twelve digs. At the net, middle blocker Katie McAllister (Etters, PA) led the team with her season high five blocks.

“We had some great plays at key moments throughout the match” said Coach Mable at the conclusion of the game. She was pleased with the overall well rounded play, as well as everyone getting an opportunity to get playing time on this special day.

Next match for the ladies is a change in the schedule. What was scheduled to be a home match has been changed to an away match on Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm at Lincoln University
