Even ties can be encouraging. The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team would have loved to break their six game losing streak with a win, but the tie will do for now.
Senior
Meredith Wrightson scored both Charger goals, her second and third of the season. Her second, at the 63 minute mark, put LBC up 2-0. Her first goal was assisted by senior
Alicia Poorman.
The Gators' Ashley Cumberland scored two minutes after Wrightson's second goal and tied the game three minutes later with her second goal of the game. Two 10-minute overtimes could not determine a winner.
The teams tied 14-14 in shots on goal, while the Chargers (2-11-2) held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
This game was another step in the right direction for our team," Charger Head Coach
Ken Craul said. "We played a lot better in the first half, something we have been having a hard time with."
Freshman
Emily Lloyd, getting her second straight start in goal, made six saves.
The Chargers return to action on Tuesday when they will honor their seniors prior to their match with Hood. The match will begin at 4:00 p.m.
