Too bad they all can't be like this. Coming off three straight one-goal games, the Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team scored five first half goals en route to 9-1 thrashing of Williamson Trade School Monday night in Media, Pa.
Charger sophomore
Cory Greiser had a hat trick in the first half to pace LBC (9-4). Junior
Kyle Zook and freshman
Zach Kutz recorded two goals apiece in the win. Junior
Kyle Tucker and sophomore
Marcus Benner rounded out the scoring for the Chargers.
Sophomore
Lawrence Lartey continued to rack up points this season as he added three assists. Freshman
Sean Westerlund recorded his first collegiate points this season, recording two assists. Senior
Eric Gregory and Kutz each had an assist as well.
"This was a nice change of pace," Charger Assistant Coach Luke Gibson said. "It was good to get guys in and out of the game."
Gibson noted that it was nice to get some guys rest tonight because the rest of the games won't be like this one.
"We have to be ready for the next two games especially," Gibson, who was filling in for Head Coach Josh Beers, said.
Greiser now has 10 goals on the season, while Zook has eight. This was Greiser's second hat trick of the season.
"We need production from both of them if we are going to go far this season," Gibson said. "We worked well as a unit tonight and Greiser and Zook got us off to a good start."
LBC held a 27-3 shot advantage, and had six corner kicks to the Mechanics (2-5) zero.
The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday when they take on Goucher at 7:00 p.m.
