The goal for every sports team is to try and get better every time they play. After 15 games the Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team is right on track. Playing for the third time in four days for the second time this season, the Chargers played well, but lost to a tough Lycoming team 1-0 on Senior Day.
Chris Lorenset scored with just under 13 minutes to go to give the Warriors (10-3) the win. Two minutes before the goal, Lycoming goalkeeper James Quinn made a terrific save on LBC's
Cory Greiser to keep the game scoreless.
"With 15 minutes to go we had a chance to win," Charger Head Coach Josh Beers said. "We played with energy and a lot of emotion in the second half. We didn't wear down, they just made plays."
Charger goalkeeper
Jake Kreider made eight saves in the loss, while
Tim Carver played well off the bench.
"We got a great game from Carver off the bench," Beers said. "Kreider made some key saves to keep us in the match as well."
The Warriors out shot the Chargers (9-6) 16-6, but Beers was still happy with the Chargers' play throughout the match.
"We are displeased with the result, but I am very pleased with the effort from the guys, especially in the second half," Beers said.
LBC returns to action on Monday when they travel to Reading to take on Penn State-Berks at 4:00 p.m.
