Another slow start, another long day.
The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team dropped all three doubles matches to begin their match with McDaniel and though they battled to make many of the singles' matches interesting, fell to the Green Terror 8-1 on Thursday.
Charger junior
Ashley Bell got the lone win for the Chargers, winning her number six singles match, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 11-9. Freshman
Bri Funk took Sara Yost to a third set super-tie-breaker before falling 6-3, 3-6, 10-5. Freshman
Kayla Scott also took her opponent, Jess Gelbor to three sets, but lost 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.
"We came out slow today and it cost us," Charger Head Coach
Zach Freeman said. "We have to do a better job of seizing momentum early in the match."
Freeman was happy that the team rebounded during singles' play.
"We battled during the singles' matches and just missed getting a couple of more wins," Freeman said. "We need to make sure we are in the match mentally the entire time. I was happy that Ashley could get her first win today, that was something to build on for her."
The women are back in action on Tuesday when they host St. Mary's at 3:30 p.m. The match will be played at Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz, Pa.
