Coming off a heartbreaking loss to Southeastern in the NCCAA Division II Quarter-final on Friday night, the Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team was looking for a spark to help them rebound against Southwestern Christian.

Sean Westerlund.
Westerlund's two second half goals helped propel the Chargers to a 2-1 victory over the Eagles. His first came five minutes into the second half when he scored an unassisted goal after working hard to get the ball. His second, in the 75th minute, came off two great passes from
Kyle Zook and
Zak Kraehmer and put the Chargers up 2-0.
"Zook played a perfect ball to Kraehmer who then put it right to Sean's foot for the goal," Charger Head Coach Josh Beers said.
The Eagles would not go away quietly and scored five minutes later to cut the Charger lead in half. Their final opportunity came in the 85th minute when they hit the crossbar. The LBC defense clamped down and the Eagles never threatened again.
"We controlled play the whole time up until the final 10 minutes," Beers said. "But we got the job done and I am happy that we have gotten a win in Florida."
Beers said the win helps ease some of the pain from Friday night's loss.
"We had a lot of players step up tonight and it's just been great to see the younger guys play so well," Beers said.
Senior
Eric Gregory and freshman
Keith Keltner both played some of their better soccer of the year and helped preserve the Charger victory.
LBC (16-7) won without the services of talented sophomore
Lawrence Lartey who was serving a one game suspension for receiving a red card following his second yellow card on Friday night.
The Chargers will face two-time defending NCCAA DIvision II National Champion Manhattan Christian on Monday at 12:30 p.m. in the 5th Place Game
