Box Score
Madison Warfel had a season-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough as Messiah defeated Lancaster Bible College 77-67 on Tuesday night in Grantham, Pa.
Chris Yoder had 23 points to lead the Falcons, who improved to 3-1 on the year.
"Our defensive intensity was good, but our rotations were bad tonight," Charger Head Coach
Pete Beers said. "The lack of rotation is really what hurt us tonight."
Warfel and
Kevin Keltner kept the Chargers (0-3) close in the second half, as LBC closed the gap to seven with just over two minutes to play.
"Madison was amazing tonight," Beers said. "He is quickly becoming our go-to-guy and we have to start getting him more touches."
Keltner, who is still working out his basketball kinks after getting a late start because of soccer, had 19 points in the loss.
"Kevin is still finding himself," Beers said. "As he works out the kinks, he will continue to make the other players around him better."
Senior
Carl Edwards added nine points and six rebounds, while freshman
Keith Keltner had six points and four boards.
"Today was a good building day," Beers said. "We have to make sure we come back from Thanksgiving Break strong and put what we have learned to good use."
The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Penn State-York at 8:00 p.m.
