Lancaster, PA- Lou Curcio (Hatfield, PA) had a career-high 11 strikeouts in a stellar outing, holding opposing batters to only three hits in the Chargers 10-0 rout of Philadelphia Biblical University. The Chargers turned it on offensively, scoring 10 runs on 10 hits.
Lancaster took the lead in the second inning when Zachary Kraehmer (Newburgh, NY) hit a two-run shot off Shawn Bramble to break the zero-zero tie. In the third, first baseman Ben Markey (Dallastown, PA) knocked in Curcio on a fielder's choice to make the score 3-0. Tyrel Fuller (Wellsboro, PA) kept the Chargers rolling in the fourth, with a two run jack to increase the lead to five.
The game was called for ten-run rule in the seventh after Lancaster scored five more runs, for the final of 10-0. Curcio got the win for the Chargers going seven innings with 11 strikeouts, three hits, and no earned runs.
The Chargers are in action again on Friday for a double header at Williamson Trade. First game is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
