Lancaster Falls to Mounties

Cresson, PA- The Chargers took an early two run lead in the opening game Friday, but Mt. Aloysius College proved to be too much winning both games 7-3 and 11-1.

Lead off hitter, Steve Jacques (Norristown, PA) and left fielder Marcus Benner (Waldoboro, ME) scored to put the Chargers up two going into the second inning. The Mounties quickly took control batting in five runs in the bottom of the second.

Benner crossed the plate again in the fourth but it was too little too late as the Mounties added two more runs for the 7-3 final. Lou Curcio (Hatfield, PA) got the loss for the Chargers allowing five earned runs in six innings of action.

Brandon Boosz (Canton, OH) led the team going three for four with three RBI's in his first significant action for the Chargers. Benner chipped in with a pair of hits in three at bats and two runs scored.

Mt. Aloysius kept the momentum rolling allowing Lancaster only three hits in the day's second game. Eric Hollinger (Leola, PA) was handed the loss in his first start of the season for the Chargers. Zachary Kraehmer (Newburgh, NY) led the team in the nightcap hitting two for three with a stolen base.

The Chargers return home on Wednesday to host a double-header with Penn State Harrisburg, first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
