After his first goal of the season on Saturday, junior
Kyle Zook said he hoped to build on that goal for the rest of the season. Monday against Rosemont, he made good on his statement. Zook scored twice in 90 seconds in the first half as Lancaster Bible College cruised past Rosemont College 5-2.
Sophomores
Cory Greiser,
Lawrence Lartey and
Taylor Dooley each added a goal in the victory, LBC's fifth straight. Junior
Zak Kraehmer assisted on Lartey and Dooley's goals. Sophomore
Travis Weyandt's pass to Greiser, nine minutes into the game, gave him a breakaway, which he converted, to open the scoring.
"I thought everyone played solid today," Head Coach Josh Beers said. "We got a great game from goalkeeper
Jake Kreider, Weyandt in the back and Kraehmer who had two beautiful assists."
LBC (5-1) out shot the Ravens (1-2) 19-12.
Rosemont, who is fielding a men's soccer team for the first season, got goals from Freddie Moss and Sergio Martinez.
"They were a solid team," Beers said. "It was nice to get a win today."
Though Beers thought the team played well, he still thinks there is room for improvement.
"We are still looking to put a full 90 minutes together," Beers said.
The Chargers will get another chance to do that on Friday when they host Waynesburg at 4:00 p.m.
