Playing for the second straight day, the Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team tried everything they could to stay with Alvernia, but on a cold, dreary Wednesday in Reading, the Crusaders swept the Chargers 9-0.
LBC (0-5) playing without two of its top six players, competed in many of the matches, but Alvernia's deep squad proved to be too much.
"I like the way we battled in many of the matches today," Head Coach
Zach Freeman said. "The scores don't reflect the way we made them work for many of their points."

Carolyn Kensinger dropped an 8-4 decision to Jenny McKee and Kayla Morgan, but again showed improvement and hit a couple of nice winners.
"I've been thinking of mixing up the doubles teams a little bit, but Bri and Carolyn keep improving and are learning to play together," Freeman said. "I think a win for them is right around the corner."
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wayne, NJ to face William Paterson University. Match time is noon.
