Giving up early goals is never a good thing and for the third time in five games, the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team gave up a goal in the first six minutes and never rebounded in a 5-0 loss to Baptist Bible College on Saturday on the campus of LBC.
The Chargers (1-4) got another great game from senior goalkeeper
Kirsten Shoemaker who made 12 saves, but too many mistakes in the defensive end, spelled doom for LBC.
"We didn't do a very good job of marking in our defensive half," Charger Head Coach
Ken Craul said. "They took advantage of our mistakes and that's why they are a very good team."
For the match, the Defenders (3-3) out shot the Chargers 27-10, while each team had two corner kicks.
Despite the loss, the Chargers continue to improve on the little things during each game which has Craul excited for the rest of the schedule.
"I am still encouraged by the improvement that I see in our team from the beginning of the season, even if the results are not where we would like them to be," Craul said. "I still believe that we will have more success as the season progresses."
LBC won't have much time to reflect on this loss, as they host Valley Forge Christian on Monday at 3:00 p.m.
