Shoemaker Earns Shutout as Chargers Top Patriots

Coming off a 5-0 loss to Baptist Bible on Saturday, the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team entered Monday's game against Valley Forge Christian looking to turn their season around. Junior Becka Hixson and freshman Whitney Heise each had a pair of goals and sophomore Kristina Clairmont notched three assists as the Chargers cruised past the Patriots 5-0.

Senior goalkeeper Kirsten Shoemaker recorded her second shutout of the year, making nine saves.

LBC (2-4) held a 13-12 lead in the shot department, while VFCC (2-4-1) had four corner kicks to the Chargers' two.

Leading 2-0 at halftime, both goals coming from Heise, the Chargers put the game out of reach at the 57 minute mark as Hixson netted her first goal of the season. Hixson added to the lead with just over eight minutes to go, before Clairmont put the finishing touches on the win on a pass from senior Meredith Wrightson. Wrightson also added an assist on Heise's first goal.

The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Neumann at 4:00 p.m.
