Chargers Blanked by Neumann

Trying to maintain the momentum they gained from their 5-0 thrashing of Valley Forge Christian on Monday, the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team traveled to Aston, Pa. Wednesday to take on Neumann University. The Knights, playing on their new turf field for the first time, snatched all of LBC's momentum early and defeated the Chargers 5-0.

Neumann (4-3-1) opened the scoring at 18:16 on a goal by Kristin Ambrose. 15 minutes later, Nica Meccariello increased the Knight lead to two. It stayed that way thanks in part to the goalkeeping by Charger senior Kirsten Shoemaker who made five saves in the first half.

LBC (2-5) withstood the Neumann pressure into the second half before giving up three goals in the final 17 minutes. For the game, Shoemaker made eight saves.

The Chargers were outshot 34-2, and the Knights held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

LBC returns home on Friday when they will host Philadelphia Biblical at 2:00 p.m.
