Jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead and later leading 2-1, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team looked like they were finally going to beat rival Baptist Bible College. The Defenders had other ideas. Winning a tough fourth set and holding on to win the fifth, BBC defeated the Chargers 3-2.
The Defenders (4-9) won by game scores of 11-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Sophomore
Elissa Hunsberger led the Chargers with 35 assists, 11 kills and a block. Freshman
Jenae Almas chipped in with 10 digs and seven kills. Senior
Alishia Landis had 37 assists in the five-set match.
LBC (5-10) will look to rebound on Tuesday when they host a tri-match against Northern Virginia Community College and Washington Bible College. The Chargers will face NVCC at 4:00 p.m. and Washington at 7:00 p.m.
