Mounties Beat Chargers

Looking to rebound from a heart breaking one-point loss on Friday night, the Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team traveled to Cresson, Pa. to take on Mount Aloysius and to try and find some of the aspects of their game that have been missing since they won four of five games in December.

They are still looking.

The Mounties' Perez Armond led all scorers with 23 points as Mount Aloysius defeated the Chargers 83-68. Mount Aloysius' Clark Harold added 16 points and five rebounds in the win.

Kevin Keltner led the Chargers with 19 points and five rebounds, while Madison Warfel had 18 points in 31 minutes.

Chargers Head Coach Pete Beers thought the difference in the game was the shot selection for each team.

"We settled for jumpers, while they were getting to the basket for layups," Beers said. "We struggled with their zone most of the night."

Trailing 46-32 at the break, the Chargers cut the Mountie lead to nine just five minutes into the second half, but could not get any closer.

"We had momentum and opportunities to get closer and just could not capitalize," Beer said.

While the loss stings, LBC (5-8) will get another crack at Mount Aloysius in just over a month, when the Mounties visit Horst Athletic Center on February 15.

"Hopefully we can fix some things for when they come to LBC," Beers said. "If we execute, we have a chance."

After playing three games in six days, the Chargers do not play again until Saturday when they host Keystone College at 3:00 p.m.
