Five Chargers Score in Double Figures as LBC Beats FDU-Florham

Coming off their first loss in almost a month, the Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team knew they had to play well on Sunday against Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham to restore the momentum they had earned before Christmas break.

The Chargers turned a four point halftime deficit into a 13-point win as they scored 51 second half points to down the Devils 80-67 to take home third place in the CUA/Residence Inn Greenbelt Classic held at Catholic University.

Five LBC players scored in double figures, including Kevin Keltner, who led all scorers with 24 points. Keltner was 8-for-11 from the floor and and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. For his efforts he was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Keltner's brother, Keith, added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists. Eric Nulf had his best game of the season, scoring 13 points, including three buckets from beyond the arc.

"Eric played great today," Charger Head Coach Pete Beers said. "He provided a big boost for us today."

Beers was pleased with how the team responded in the second half.

"Our defensive intensity was much better in the second half and I think that sparked our offense as well," Beers said.

Senior Carl Edwards had 15 points and six rebounds in just 18 minutes of action.

"Carl was strong in the paint today and had some big baskets for us today," Beers said.

LBC's leading scorer Madison Warfel was the fifth Charger in double figures with 11.

"Madison got hot at the right time tonight and really helped us," Beers said.

The win moves the Chargers back to the .500 mark at 5-5.

"This is a great win for us," Beers said. "We didn't have our 'A' game today, but found a way to win. That's important for us moving forward."

The Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they host Cabrini at 6:00 p.m.
