Misevicius, Lemons Lead Cabrini Past LBC

Monday night against Keystone College, Cabrini senior Kevin Misevicius had a program-record 45 points in a 93-85 win. Wednesday night, it was the Chargers' turn to try and shutdown Misevicius. He had other ideas.

Shooting 10-for-19 from the floor, Misevicius had 27 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Cavaliers (9-1) past Lancaster Bible College 92-74 at Horst Athletic Center. Cabrini's Cory Lemons added 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds to help pace the Cavaliers.

The Chargers were led by junior Kevin Keltner who had 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He also added four rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Madison Warfel had 18 points and five rebounds for LBC (5-6).

"Kevin played extremely well again and Madison shot well from the floor tonight," Charger Head Coach Pete Beers said.

Cabrini roared out of the gate, taking an 11-point lead ten minutes into the game, and leading 54-34 at halftime.

"I was not pleased with our defensive effort tonight," Beers said. "We went away from our defensive principles and you simply can't do that against a bigger team."

Beers was also concerned about the Chargers transition defense.

"We gave them too many shots in transition," Beers said. "Too many of their shots were lay-ups."

Beers said the coaching staff warned of Cabrini's fast starts, but still couldn't contain them in the first half.

"Cabrini is a very good basketball team," Beers said. "If we come out and play hard from the start, we can be a good basketball team too."

While there are aspects of the game to fix, Beers was happy with some of the team's performance.

"Travis Weyandt contributed key minutes tonight and I liked the way Eric Nulf played as well," Beers said.

The Chargers only get one day to fix their problems, as they host Kentucky Christian on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

"We have adjustments to make and we need to make them quickly," Beers said. "We will respond. This team has more character left to come out. We will be better because of this game."

Notes:
-Cabrini held a 28-26 advantage on the boards.

-Kevin Keltner has reached double figures in six straight games, including back-to-back 20-point games.

-LBC shot 61 percent from the floor in the second half.
