Lancaster Bible College Baseball Head Coach Doug Yager has resigned effective immediately.
Yager, who led the Chargers to back-to-back NCCAA Division II East Region Championships in his two years as coach, cited health issues and personal issues as reasons for his departure. In his two years at the helm, Yager compiled a record of 32-37-1.
This past season, Yager helped lead the Chargers to their first win at NCCAA Nationals when they defeated Ohio Christian, 4-3. LBC lost their final two games at Nationals, but not before winning the most games in team history, 17.
In his two seasons, the Chargers were 14-1 against NCCAA East Region opponents, including the playoffs. They were a perfect 8-0 this past season against Baptist Bible, Philadelphia Biblical and Valley Forge Christian.
"I want to thank Doug for his 2+ years coaching the baseball team," LBC Director of Athletics
Pete Beers said. "He helped move the program forward and we will look to continue that growth this upcoming season and beyond."
