Chargers Handle Lady Shock

The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team continued its superb play on Tuesday night, defeating Washington Adventist University, 3-0.

The Chargers defeated the Lady Shock, 25-14, 25-9, 25-8. Peggy Compton led the Chargers with eight kills and 10 assists. Hailee Growden chipped in with six kills and 10 assists. LBC had a season-high 27 aces during the match. Brittney Becker had 12 of the 27 aces for LBC.

"We talked about serving tough prior to the match and the girls responded very well," LBC Head Coach Lauren Bewley said. "They hit positions on the court and were very consistent."

LBC (13-16) will look to continue their solid play for the remainder of the week when they take a tough Penn State Berks squad on Thursday, as well as St. Mary's [Md.] and Messiah on Friday and Saturday.

"We are excited to play Thursday, Friday and Saturday against great competition," Bewley said. "We have played well against good teams this season and it's great to take on those types of teams right before we head into the post-season."

The Chargers will take on Penn State Berks on Thursday night in Reading, Pa. at 7:00 p.m.
