Men's Soccer Game Preview: LBC at PBU

Lockard and the Chargers hope to be jumping for joy again on Saturday.
With Lancaster Bible College and Philadelphia Biblical University renewing their men's soccer rivalry on Saturday in Langhorne, Pa., what better time then to dig deep into the archives and give some random stats and write a quote or two from the coach.

-Over the last 10 games, LBC is 2-8 against PBU...Both wins have come in Langhorne...One during the regular season in 2008 and last year's NCCAA Division II East Region Final.

-The last four games between the teams have been decided by one goal.

-The road team has won the last four games of the series.

-All-time, LBC holds a record of 9-35-3 against the Crimson Eagles.

-All-time, LBC holds a record of 4-22-2 in Langhorne, Pa.

-From the 1994 NCCAA Playoffs through the 2007 regular season, the Chargers did not win a single game against the Crimson Eagles (0-20).

-The most lopsided score in the rivalry was a 10-0 PBU win in 2000.

-The two teams have met in the playoffs 14 times since 1975...LBC is 2-12 in those games...The Chargers won in the 1992 NCCAA East Region Semi-finals and in the aforementioned 2009 NCCAA East Region Finals.

-LBC Senior Kyle Zook has four goals in six career games against PBU...Lawrence Lartey is the only other current Chargers player with a goal against the Crimson Eagles.

-The winner of the regular season match-up between these two teams the past two seasons, has hosted and lost the East Region Final...Once again, Saturday's winner will host the East Region Final.

-The Chargers enter Saturday's game with an 8-6 record, while the Crimson Eagles come in with a 3-7-1 record.

Quote from LBC Head Coach Josh Beers:
"Saturday's game determines the road we take to Florida. It will either be through Lancaster or Langhorne. The rivalry brings out the best in both teams and it will be a fun day to be a college athlete."
