Lancaster Bible College senior
Lou Curcio has been named NCCAA Division II Player of the Week for his outstanding play last week.
Curcio hit .600 (9-for-15), with two home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored, helping the Chargers to a 3-1 week. Curcio's two home runs came in the same inning against rival Baptist Bible College. Curcio had a two-run homer, followed by a towering grand slam that helped LBC to a 16-3 game one win. He followed that up with a complete-game shutout in which he threw just 75 pitches.
For the week, Curcio pitched eight innings, giving up one earned run on seven hits, while striking out six. In addition to the win he earned against BBC, Curcio also picked up the save in game two against Penn State-Harrisburg. The win was the first against Penn State-Harrisburg since 1984 and just LBC's second all-time win against the Nittany Lions.
Curcio and the Chargers (5-8) take on Gallaudet today at 2:00 p.m. and Valley Forge Christian on Saturday.
