The Lancaster Bible College baseball team was swept on Thursday at Gallaudet. The Bison won game one, 8-7 in eight innings and cruised to a 10-2 game two win.
In game one, the Bison (3-24) led 7-2 heading to the top of the seventh when the Chargers' bats came to life and they scored five runs on six hits. Senior
Steve Jacques had two hits in the inning and scored a run. The big play of the inning came via the home run, which for the fourth time this season came from Freshman
Frank DiFilippo's bat. His three-run homer tied the game at 7-7 and completed the comeback.
After stranding a runner on third in the top of the eighth, LBC allowed the winning run to cross home plate because of a throwing error on a single to left field.
Gallaudet pitcher Ryan Hastings made sure there were no late game heroics in game two. The Bison started quickly, taking a 4-0 lead into the top of the third. That was all Hastings would need as he pitched a complete-game eight-hitter. He struck out five and allowed just two earned runs. LBC's
Caleb Erb had two hits and drove in a run.
The Chargers (5-10) return to the diamond on Saturday when they take on NCCAA East Region rival Valley Forge Christian at 12:00 p.m.
