With six matches in five days, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team was looking to get off on the right foot on Tuesday night with a tri-match against Keystone College and Baptist Bible College.
Though they got a win against Keystone, 3-0, the 3-0 loss to the Defenders left a sour taste in their collective mouths. The Chargers lost to BBC, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 and Head Coach
Lauren Bewley was less then pleased with the effort.
"We did not play up to par and simply did not show up for the Baptist Bible match," Bewley said. "BBC served well and give them credit, but we have to come to play every single match."
Against BBC,
Lauren Heliger and
Hailee Growden each had seven kills.
Hannah Fogle led LBC with 11 digs.
In the opener, the Chargers dominated Keystone, winning 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.
Peggy Compton and
Jenae Almas each had 11 kills to lead LBC (7-9). Heliger added eight kills and a team-high 14 digs. Setter
Brittney Becker had 28 assists. Growden had seven kills in 12 chances, for a .417 attacking percentage, her highest of the season.
The Chargers will take on Catholic University on Thursday night in Washington, D.C. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
