With the top seed in next month's NEAC playoffs already wrapped up, the only thing left for the Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team to do was earn a perfect NEAC regular season record. After another dominating victory, the perfect record is theirs.
Ally Brown and
Whitney Heise each scored twice, while
Karyn Harkness added her third goal of the season to lead the Chargers past Gallaudet, 5-0.
Emily Lloyd made two saves for her third straight shutout.
Monica Horning,
Evelyn Stauffer and Brown all added assists as well.
"We possessed the ball well and made some good runs," Chargers' Head Coach
Ken Craul said. "It was nice to get some rest for our players who are banged up, especially because we play on Wednesday."
LBC out shot the Bison, 38-6 and held an 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Brown's two goals give her 17 for the year, putting her in third place all-time for most goals in one season. Hanna Gruver holds the LBC record with 21 goals in 2004.
The Chargers [16-1 overall, 11-0 NEAC] open the NCCAA East Region playoffs tomorrow by host Valley Forge Christian at 3:00 p.m. in the East Region Semi-Finals.
