It wasn't as dramatic as Lancaster Bible College's Homecoming win last season, but Baptist Bible got some payback on Wednesday in Scranton, Pa. as Peter Paye scored with just over eight minutes to go to lift the Defenders to a 2-1 victory over the Chargers.

Paye scored on a free kick from just over 20 yards out to give BBC a lead they would not relinquish.
"The ball went right past our wall and I'm not sure that [Jarrod] Bergey ever saw it," Chargers' Head Coach
Tom Ardt said. "It was a nice shot though."
LBC [2-6-1, 2-1-1] opened the scoring 20 minutes into the game when senior
Travis Weyandt scored his second goal of the season. BBC answered right back seven minutes later on a goal by Caleb Evans. The game remained tied through halftime and late into the second half.
"It was an evenly played game, very physical," Ardt said. "The turf surface was fast because of the rain, but I thought both teams adjusted well, just very physical."
The physicality of the game led to many cards, one in particular that remained disputed for many of the Chargers' players and supporters.
Taylor Dooley received a red card with 34 minutes to play on a questionable tackle that may have been a penalty, but those who saw the game aren't sure it deserved a straight red card.
The Chargers still had chances over the next 25 minutes, but couldn't convert.
"The Dooley red card changed the game for us obviously, but we still had our chances," Ardt said. "We just couldn't put a goal into the back of the net."
Paye's free kick came after LBC senior
Lawrence Lartey received a yellow card just outside of the box, and although it resulted in the game winning goal, Ardt said there were many things LBC could've done better to change the outcome of the game.
"It was more of the same mistakes for us again today," Ardt said. "We didn't challenge on enough 50-50 balls and when we did win them, we weren't in the best position to capitalize."
Wednesday's game was the sixth in which LBC has scored one goal or less.
"We are just watching the ball sometimes and not moving," Ardt said. "We need to be more creative offensively."
The Chargers will get a chance to work on their creativity for two days before hosting NEAC opponent Wells College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Notes:
-Because of their losses to Philadelphia Biblical and BBC, the Chargers can get no better than the #3 seed for the NCCAA East Region playoffs, which means LBC will open the East Region playoffs on the road at either PBU or BBC.
-The Defenders will travel to Langhorne, Pa. to take on PBU on Saturday to determine the East Region's #1 and #2 seeds. LBC hosts Valley Forge Christian on Oct. 5 to determine the #3 and #4 seeds.
