Box Score The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team continued its winning ways on Wednesday, thumping Gallaudet, 5-0 at Charger Field in Lancaster, Pa.
Chargers' sophomore
Evelyn Stauffer scored twice in the first half to pace LBC.
Monica Horning,
Whitney Heise and
Bethany Stein also scored for the Chargers who have won nine straight games and are now 11-3 overall and 8-1 in NEAC play.
Stauffer found the back of the net just 9:51 into the game as she dribbled through the Bison defense and scored her fourth goal of the year. Just over 10 minutes later, Stauffer was at it again, scoring her fifth of the season off a pass from Heise. It was Heise's ninth assist of the season which is tops in the NEAC.
Horning's goal six minutes later, a blast into the upper right-hand corner, came off a pass from
Kathryn Ritter and gave LBC a 3-0 lead that they would hold through halftime.
The teams played much of the second half exchanging possessions in the midfield before Heise and Stein capped the scoring in the 75th and 77th minute respectively.
The Chargers outshot the Bison (2-11, 1-7 NEAC), 31-2 and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
LBC is back in action on Saturday when they host SUNYIT at 12 p.m. The Chargers will honor their six seniors prior to the game and those ceremonies will begin at 11:50 a.m.
