Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's basketball team remained undefeated on Wednesday night by defeating Wilson, 67-43 in Chambersburg, Pa. The game marked LBC's first North Eastern Athletic Conference game of the season as well and the Chargers continued their early season trend of holding their opponents to a low shooting percentage and taking advantage of their free throw opportunities.
After a rough first half that saw the Chargers make just seven buckets (7-of-27) and turn the ball over 12 times, LBC took the game over in the second half as they outscored the Phoenix, 38-19.
Freshman
Aubrey Folger continued her strong play with a game-high 16 points and she added four rebounds and three steals. Senior
Emily Lloyd had 12 points and eight rebounds, while junior
Brooklyn Wilson added 14 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists. Wilson was 9-of-12 from the free throw line and has now converted 32-of-37 chances from the charity stripe.
On the defensive end, the Chargers, specifically
Brooklyn Wilson, were able to hold Wilson's top scorer, Tara Fields to just nine points on 4-of-15 shooting. Fields was also forced into 10 turnovers, as the Phoenix committed 30 as a team.
The Chargers (4-0) have little time to rest as they will travel West on Route 283 on Thursday night to battle NEAC foe Penn St. Harrisburg. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Notes:
-LBC's 4-0 start is the best since the 2002-03 season when the Chargers started 6-0.
-The Chargers remain the only undefeated team left in the NEAC. As of Wednesday morning, they were one of 43 teams in NCAA Division III who were still undefeated.
-In those same NCAA Division III rankings, LBC senior
Lauren Heliger ranked ninth in the entire country in steals per game.
