Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's soccer team wrapped up the number seed in next month's NCCAA East Region Playoffs by defeating Valley Forge Christian, 10-0 on Tuesday in Phoenixville, Pa.
Bethany Stein,
Whitney Heise and
Shannon McNally each scored twice to lead the Chargers, who improved to 5-3.
Amanda Bracelin,
Monica Horning,
Olivia Rentzel and
Brooke Cullum also scored for LBC. Horning and Stein had two assists each, while
Whitney Heise and
Kelsee Perkins added an assist as well.
LBC wasted little time getting on the board as Bracelin scored 4:21 into the game. Stein made it 2-0 less than four minutes later and the rout was on.
The 10 goals scored by LBC are the most scored in women's soccer history. The previous record was nine which the Chargers had done three times before.
Because Cairn University is not playing in this year's East Region playoffs, Valley Forge Christian and Baptist Bible will meet in the East Region Semi-Final with the winner taking on LBC in the East Region Final on Saturday, October 27. BBC is the second seed based on their 2-1 victory over Valley Forge Christian earlier this month.
The Chargers are back in action this weekend when they return to NEAC play in New York. LBC will take on Keuka Friday night and play Wells on Saturday afternoon.
