Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's soccer team scored 4:21 into the game in Tuesday's, 10-0 win over Valley Forge Christian. On Friday in Keuka Park, N.Y., they improved the time by more than two minutes.
Bethany Stein took
Whitney Heise's pass and buried it past Keuka goalkeeper Marriah Gough just 2:07 into the game and the Chargers never looked back, defeating Keuka, 3-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.
LBC's
Monica Horning put the Chargers ahead, 2-0 with 3:35 remaining in the first half, but LBC Head Coach
Ken Craul said he was much happier with the team's play in the second half, even though LBC led, 2-0 at the break.
"I thought we left the middle third of the field open in the first half," Craul said. "In the second half, we controlled play in the middle more and got more chances. Our defense came up big, especially
Emily Lloyd, in the first half that really kept us in the game."
Chargers' senior
Whitney Heise capped the scoring for LBC with 11:15 to play, renewing LBC's two-goal lead after Keuka's Jessica Bandrowski had cut the lead in half, five minutes prior.
Lloyd finished with five saves, while Stein and Heise each added an assist to their goals.
The Chargers, who have won four straight games, will take on Wells on Saturday at 12 p.m.
