Horning's Hat Trick Leads Chargers Past Express, 5-1

Box Score Monica Horning scored two goals and assisted on another in the first half as Lancaster Bible cruised past Wells, 5-1 on Saturday in Aurora, N.Y. Horning added her third of the game early in the second half to put the game away for the Chargers who improved to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in NEAC play.

After scoring in the first five minutes of the game for the third consecutive contest, the Chargers gave up the equalizer at the 5:31 mark when Wells' Savannah Tucker scored unassisted. LBC senior Whitney Heise gave LBC a lead they wouldn't relinquish eight minutes later when she scored off a pass from Honing. Horning's second goal of the game less than two minutes later provided LBC an insurance goal and Kathryn Ritter's fourth goal of the season at the 30:13 mark gave LBC a three-goal halftime lead.

Chargers' goalkeeper Emily Lloyd made three saves to earn her seventh win of the season. LBC has allowed just three goals during their current five-game winning streak, while scoring 24 of their own.

LBC is back in action on Monday evening when they face NEAC rival Penn St. Abington. The last time the two teams met was last November in the NEAC Final when the Nittany Lions defeated the Chargers in penalty kicks to win the NEAC Championship.

Monday's game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Father Judge High School.
