Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's soccer team won its second straight game on Friday as they defeated Wells, 2-0. The win moves the Chargers to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in NEAC play.Â
LBC dominated play from the opening whistle despite the fact they only scored two goals. Junior
Monica Horning opened the scoring at the 26:19 mark with her eighth goal of the year. Fellow junior
Evelyn Stauffer passed the ball ahead to Horning who chipped the ball over Wells' goalkeeper Olivia Baum's head from 20 yards away.Â
The Chargers took a 1-0 lead into halftime and finally extended the lead to two on
Bethany Stein's eighth goal of the season.
Kirsten Webster threw the ball in to Stein who collected the ball just outside the box and drilled a shot over Baum's head.
"Bethany has worked hard for 90 minutes in every one of our games thus far," Chargers Head Coach
Ken Craul said. "It was nice to see her rewarded with a goal."
Though the Chargers didn't score the rest of the game, they continued to dominate play as they outshot the Express (3-8, 3-2 NEAC), 43-5 and held a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
LBC returns to action on Saturday when they host Keuka at 3 p.m.Â
