The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team snapped a seven-game losing streak on Monday, defeating Trinity [D.C.], 6-1 in Washington, D.C. Both teams were without a sixth player, thus there was no number three doubles match or number six singles match.
LBC (2-8, 0-5 NEAC) controlled the match from the get-go as both doubles teams,
Carmin Nachtigal/
Kayla Nachtigal and
Kacie Scott and
Tiffany Wolf, earned victories. Scott and Wolf won, 8-0, while C. Nachtigal and K. Nachtigal won, 8-2.
Singles featured much of the same as the same four Chargers who won in doubles cruised in their singles matches. C. Nachtigal won, 6-2, 6-2; K. Nachtigal won, 6-0, 6-2;
Kacie Scott won, 6-1, 6-1; and
Tiffany Wolf was victorious, 6-4, 6-0.
The most competitive match of the day featured LBC's
Rebecca Terra who played at number five singles. Terra took the first set from Armani McCoy, 6-3, but dropped the second set, 6-3. The two fought back and forth in the super tie-breaker, but it was McCoy who pulled out the win, 11-9 to earn the Tigers' lone point.
The Chargers return to the court on Thursday when they travel to Penn St. Abington for a match that begins at 3:30 p.m.
