Chargers Celebrate Homecoming with 11 Goals

Box Score The Lancaster Bible women's soccer team celebrated Homecoming in a big way on Saturday at Charger Field as they scored the most goals in a single game in program history on their way to an 11-0 victory over St. Elizabeth.

Chargers sophomore Brooke Cullum led the team with four goals, while freshman Alyssa Wesner added two goals and an assist. Junior Evelyn Stauffer had a career-high three assists as well.

Other goal scorers for LBC included Bethany Stein, Kirsten Webster, Monica Horning, Christy Lorah and Naomi Otis. For Webster, Lorah and Otis, it was the first goals of their collegiate careers. Lorah's goal was especially nice as she scored over the goalkeeper's head from 25 yards out.

Horning added two assists to go along with her goal, while freshman Joanna Shughart also had two assists, the first points of her collegiate career. Junior Meaghan Williams and Webster also had assists for the Chargers who improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in NEAC play.

LBC outshot the Screaming Eagles (0-8, 0-4 NEAC), 35-1 and held a 19-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Chargers' previous record for goals in a game was 10 and came last season against Valley Forge Christian.

LBC is off until next Friday when they continue NEAC play against Wells. The game, to be played on Charger Field, will begin at 4 p.m.
