The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team put themselves to the test on Saturday as they battled two of the region's better teams in Muhlenberg and Washington (Md.). Though they lost, the Chargers played well and can take the experience with them as North Eastern Athletic Conference play resumes next week. A quick recap of Saturday's matches is below. The Chargers (13-10) are back on the court on Monday night when they head to the Nation's Capital to face Gallaudet at 7 p.m.
Muhlenberg 3, Lancaster Bible 025-19, 25-21, 25-23
Muhlenberg improved to 20-2 this season with a 3-0 sweep of the Chargers. Senior
Katie Coomber led Lancaster Bible with nine kills and 19 digs, while freshman
Myranda Kemrer had eight kills and 11 digs. Junior
Grace Scheuerman had 14 digs and two kills as well, while
Joanna Butala and
Emily Olson had five kills apiece. Katherine Boll had a match-high 16 kills for Muhlenberg.
Washington (Md.) 3, Lancaster Bible 025-23, 25-9, 25-19
Coomber once again led the Chargers with 10 kills and Butala led the team in digs with 13. Junior
Hannah Derr had 10 digs to go with her 26 assists. Olson added six more kills, while Kemrer had two service aces and 12 digs. Kristin Lee had a match-high 15 kills for Washington (Md.) who improved to 15-6 with the victory.
