Diplomats Take Two from Chargers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lancaster Bible softball team played its first games since returning home from a spring break trip in Florida which saw them go 1-7. The Chargers continued their drive to get better in their inaugural season, but were ultimately swept by Lancaster County neighbor Franklin & Marshall on Friday at Garrett Field in Willow Street, Pa.

The Diplomats took game one, 16-6 in five innings and shut the Chargers out in game two, 8-0 in six innings.

In game one, Richelle Kane, Emily Lloyd and Anna Harris each had two hits for Lancaster Bible. Lloyd also scored twice, while adding an RBI. Kathryn Ritter, Nicole Valinteno, Kristin Hartline and Kane also added RBIs for the Chargers.

Game two was not as productive for the Chargers (1-9) as they managed just two hits. Ali Morton and Rachel Laubach had the hits for Lancaster Bible, while Valinteno reached base twice via the walk.

Lancaster Bible is back in action on Tuesday when they host Penn St. Harrisburg for a doubleheader that is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Due to Lancaster Bible's field not being finished, the Chargers will play their first few home games at Garrett Field in Willow Street.
