Chargers Sweep Screaming Eagles

The Lancaster Bible women's tennis team won for the first time since April 1 as they snapped a three-match losing streak with a 9-0 drubbing of St. Elizabeth on Wednesday at Linden Hall School in Lititz, Pa. 

The Chargers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead as they won number two and number three doubles by scores of 8-0. Kacie Scott (#3), Brianna Smith (#4), Kayla Weaser (#5) and Steph Blest (#6) all won their singles matches, 6-0, 6-0. Julia Dariychuk won her number two singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-2, while number one singles player Anna Stefano won her match, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8 over St. Elizabeth's Sophia Grillo. 

The victory improves the Chargers to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. Wednesday marked the first of three straight days of matches for Lancaster Bible as the team will face Penn St. Abington in Abington, Pa. on Thursday before hosting Cazenovia on Friday at 3 p.m. Thursday's match at Penn St. Abington is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
