The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team traveled back to Williamsport, Pa. on Monday night after playing three matches in the Northern Pennsylvania town this past weekend. After playing its final North Eastern Athletic Conference Weekend of the season at Penn College on Friday and Saturday, the Chargers traveled to Lycoming on Monday evening and lost to the Warriors, 3-1. The loss drops the Chargers to 12-13 this season, while the Warriors improved to 16-9.
How it Happened: The Warriors jumped on the Chargers and won the first two sets, but the Chargers roared back and took the third set thanks to 15 kills on 37 attempts and just four errors. The Chargers took an early 7-3 lead in the fourth set, but Lycoming won six of the next seven points to grab a 9-8 lead. After Lancaster Bible tied the set at 9-9, Lycoming won six straight points to take a 15-9 lead and cruised to a 25-15 match-clinching victory.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible sophomore
Myranda Kemrer led the Chargers with 14 kills, while
Lauren Grimm and
Emily Olson each had seven kills...Kemrer also had a team-high 14 digs, while
Hannah Gipe had 13 digs...Grimm and seniors
Hannah Derr and
Grace Scheuerman each added 12 digs apiece and Derr had 30 assists as well.Â
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 0-8 all-time against Lycoming...With the 12 digs, Scheuerman now has 1,581 for her career and trails program-leader Lauren Heliger (2009-12) by just 197.
